| Over the years, we have built a network of personal relationships, with reputable breeders. Many of them belong to professional breeding organizations. They are dedicated professionals who are passionate about improvement and education in animal husbandry. Most of them are licensed with the state and the USDA. Why is this important? On October 9th, many new laws went into effect regarding breeding practices, raising the standards, and enforcing some of the toughest laws in the country. Most of the large scale commercial breeders were forced to go out of business, either surrendering their breeders or sending them to dog auctions in other states. Not only do our breeders have to follow these strict new regulations, but they are still subject to several unannounced inspections per year. Our network is intact and still growing! Unlike many traditional pet stores, we do not purchase our precious babies from "puppy brokers". Breaking tradition, we have always worked with the breeders themselves and many on a consignment basis. |
